Vacation Part 2...

699

We had an awesome time in Hilton Head the last 2 weeks of summer. I always love going away the last two weeks of summer before I head back to work...its such an awesome way to wrap up the summer...just my hubby, my girls, and the beach!

This year we were a little worried on how it would go with a one year old...last year she was only 3 months so we just toted her around in her little seat and she was happy as a clam. But no worries-this year went quite smoothly ...We were able to head to the beach or pool in the morning then head back to the villa at lunchtime, eat lunch, put Abbie down for a nap and then Sophie, Ella and I would head back down to the pool.

I think the only bad part of the vacation was mommy getting strep throat...now how can I work with children 180 days of the year and stay healthy and then manage to catch step on vacation???

But overall we had an amazing time...as the pictures will show! :)

We visited the horse farm a couple times while on vacation. Sophie LOVES horses so she was just sooo happy (which makes US so happy b/c she can be SOO moody!)

Vacation....

015

Wow...I have been a REALLY bad blogger lately but for good reason. We were on vacation for the last two weeks in Hilton Head and I had planned on updating there but for some reason we could not get the wireless network to work so we ended up "internetless" for 2 weeks! At first when I realized we were going to be without the internet for 2 weeks I got the shakes! WHat is a girl to do without the internet for 2 weeks? Then it hit me...no internet means more quality time with my little ladies and my hubby-I have now vowed to spend less time on the computer and more time with my little ones-I will hopefully be able to update once the kids are in bed. I have so many pics to post but I thought I would start with the pics from the alligator farm in Myrtle Beach...

I have to tell you-I am SO NOT a Myrtle Beach person-NOTHING against Myrtle Beach but it is just not my type of vacation-I love those places that tend to be more quiet and less commercial (I guess I am boring!) but Greg suggested we go for the day so the girls could go to a waterpark and then the Alligator Farm and I agreed. Well the girls as well as Mommy had a great time! I really enjoyed the alligator Farm. These alligators were HUGE! Sophie was so cute at the park...every time Ella came close to the fence that kept the alligators enclosed in their area Sophie would quick push Ella away and say "No Ella! Don't get too close-I don't want an alligator to eat you!" She then went on to say it made her feel "Nervous" when Ella would get to close...Ella was not amused by Sophie's motherly behavior!

Tomorrow I hope to post pics from our day in Charleston...

If you notice in this picture below Ella is being scolded by Sophie not to touch the tortoise. Apparently only Sophie is allowed to touch the animals...

First Day of PreK!

Today was Sophie and Ella's FIRST day of PreK! I can't believe my little babies are growing up so quickly! It started off a little rocky with Ella crying big alligator tears everytime I said I was going to leave but after 15 minutes she was ready to let me go...of course I was never far since I work in the same school! At the end of the day they both said they had a great day and when I asked "Who wants to go to school tommorrow?", they both yelled a big happy "ME!"...I am so proud of my little PreKindergartners!

Happy First Birthday, Makenzie!

Happy First Birthday, Kenzie!

101

My dear little niece, Makenzie Faith, turns ONE today! I am so excited to be able to celebrate her big first birthday with her! We have been blessed to have Kenzie and her mommy (my sister) live with us for several months during their family's transition phase of moving upstate from NYC...yep this city girl is quickly becoming a little country bumpkin!

Sophie, Ella, and Abbie just adore their little cousin and their love for one another is just adorable. Abbie and Kenzie, who happen to be just 10 weeks apart, are more like sisters, playing together one minute and pushing the other down the next. I LOVE It!! I always longed for a cousin so to see Kenzie and Abbie together just melts my heart...I know they will always share a special bond!

We love you Kenzie...Happy First Birthday!

Here is a short trip down memory lane with the birthday girl and her best friend...
