LET THE SHOPPING BEGIN...

Wow it's been a long time since I have posted...things have been quite busy around here. Ella had her adnoidectomy last week in preperation for her P-flap surgery...it went very well and she recovered wonderfully! I tell you that child is one tough cookie...I am so proud of her!

Mommy has been spending her days just thinking of what life is going to be like with a little boy (of course I have been working and mothering too)...it is quite exciting! I have began looking at some bedding and nursery accessories and I have to tell you I am in love with RESTORATION HARDWARE...LOVE the colors they have for little boys!

I have also been doing some "boy shopping" ...I I had some gymbucks to use last week and ofcourse I headed right to the boy section...found some cute little finds. As nice as it is to shop for the opposite sex I have to be honest that as I put away Abbie's 12-18 month clothes I am overcome with a little bit of sadness... no more baby girls to wear Abbie's darling Matilda Jane dresses...or big flower headbands...or smocked dresses...the list goes on... Please don't think I am complaining...just simply expressing my feelings....I'm a psychologist-that's what I do!!! :)

One of my purchases...It really is sooo cute...

I laugh becasue since I found out we were having a little boy my girls have been over the top with girlie things...as you can see by the pictures...how will a little boy ever make it in this house??

Big Day Tomorrow

Well tomorrow is the big ultrasound!!! Of course we know the main reason for this ultrasound is to ensure the baby is healthy and everything is looking good. And of course we pray that he or she will be doing wonderfully...we like to look at finding out the sex as an added bonus tomorrow! I can honestly say (as I hope any mother would) that it honestly makes no difference to me one way or the other if it's a girl or a boy...as much as I would love a little boy around the house I would just as much love another sweet baby girl! Our wonderful Lord is in control and I can't wait to see what He has blessed us with!!

The girls have been in definite baby mode lately (most likely b/c mommy has too!). They LOVE to watch baby shows with mommy and just the other day I found Sophie on the couch giving birth to a sweet, fully dressed, baby doll with Dr. Ella's assistance! It was the cutest thing! They will often ask if I am going to "push out" the baby or have it "the other way" (and for those of you wondering they have NO idea where the baby is pushed out of!)...Then the other day we were driving and Sophie asked, "How did the baby get in your belly?" I simply replied, "God put it in there b/c he wanted to give our family another baby."...she was content with my response and went on singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star...

Stay tuned and I will be sure to post soon!

Pictures of Sophie's babydoll birth...I walked in too late to see what plans Ella had for Handy Manny's flashlight (in Ella's hands)... I was comforted knowing this was the only tool from Handy's toolbox that Ella had planned on using in the birthing process! :)

And of course I can't post without posting a pic of my dear Abbie...I thought she looked so cute in this sweater...I picked it up the day before at Gap for $8.40!!! I LOVE when they have 40% of sale items!! I was able to pick up some very cute Spring dresses for the girls too!

Christmas 2009

070

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. It began by Sophie waking us up around 6:30 telling us "It's Christmas!". We then went to wake up Ella before heading downstairs. As I entered her room I was smacked in the face with a very strong poop smell...now that's weird I thought...I know Ella has trouble with peeing at night but NEVER pooping! So I went to investigate and sure enough my sweet little Ella had a pullup full of poop. I rushed her to the bathroom and cleaned her up and put her in some new jammies. So why am I sharing this gross story??? Well when I asked Ella later on why she pooped her pants she told me it was because "I couldn't get out of my bed because then Santa would not come!"...poor baby thought that if she got out of bed to use the bathroom Santa would not come! Oh Ella!

Anyway we had a wonderful day...Here are some cute pics of our Christmas Day.

Santa left some candy on their nightstand!

Abbie decided to wake up around 9:30...she was still feeling a little under the weather so we decided to let her sleep in

Christmas Eve

We had a very nice and relaxing Christmas Eve this year (well until church time...). Yammy and Papa (Greg's parents) always come to our house for Christmas Eve and then stay the night so they can watch the girls unwrap their presents Christmas morning. We usually have a very formal dinner before church but this year we decided to go a little less formal (but still very yummy) so Greg's dad made his famous orzo dish...it was wonderful! The girls were also able to make some sugar cookies just in time to leave out for Santa...Mommy got a very late start this year!

As we were getting ready for church Abbie began to act a little funny. She seemed really tired and started to get really miserable. I figured she was just tired since it was close to her bedtime and continued to get her all dolled up in her beautiful little Christmas dress. We made it to church and as expected it was a full house...so we all packed in and sat down to enjoy the candelight service. Abbie fell asleep in my arms (a little strange since she had done this since she was a baby) but I enjoyed holding my sleeping little baby and it was much better than having her wanting to run around. Then about 20 minutes later my sweet little angel woke up and started to get a little ornery. As I started to stand up to walk her outside my dear little Abbie started to vomit and I am not talking a little spit up. This poor thing vomited everywhere! I tried to shield everybody so I put her little face into my sweater right as she went for round 2...but it still went everywhere...oh my it was bad! I mean BAD! I rushed her home and we both got right into the tub. I did manage to get a couple of Christmas Eve pictures of my little sweetie...

Little did I know this was Abbie trying to tell me, "Don't do it Mommy!! Don't bring me to church!"

"I'm not kidding Mommy...DON'T do it!"

The aftermath...

All Daddy's girls wearing their Christmas jammies and ready for Santa to come-any other year I would try for a MUCH better shot (preferably one where my husband is not wearing a 7 year old t-shirt) but I knew I was walking on very thin ice with little Abbie! :)

Wordless Wednesday...

santa09-2

Ok...this technically is not a Wordless Wednesday b/c I feel the need to explain why my dear little Abbie is not in this picture...typically in the past when one of the girls was scared of Santa I would hold them and consequently be part of the annual Santa picture...However, I am officially in the "pudge" phase of my pregnancy which is not very pretty so I decided to forgo the picture with Santa and just have a cute picture of Sophie and Ella on Santa' s lap...ok I feel better now after explaining...
